🌌 Chapter 1 of 9

The Big Announcement

Before any human had ever walked the Earth, something incredible happened in the heavens above.

Allah the Creator of all things turned to the angels and made an announcement that would change everything forever:

"I am going to place a khalifah a guardian and caretaker on the Earth."

The angels, who had always worshipped Allah in perfect obedience, were curious. They asked respectfully: "Will You place there one who will cause trouble and shed blood, while we glorify Your praises and declare You holy?"

But Allah replied with the most powerful words: "I know what you do not know."

No argument. No debate. Allah knew something the angels didn't yet understand and that something was about to walk into the world for the very first time.

وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى جَاعِلٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةًۭ ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
"And when your Lord said to the angels: I am placing a successive authority on the earth. They said: Will You place on it one who causes corruption and sheds blood, while we glorify Your praise and sanctify You? He said: Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
Qur'ān 2:30
Allah announced to the angels that He was going to place a caretaker on the earth, and when they asked questions, He replied with the most powerful answer: "I know what you do not know." This ayah teaches us that Allah's wisdom is always greater than ours, and He has a purpose for every creation, including us, that we may not yet fully understand.

Made from the Earth

Allah commanded an angel to gather clay. But not just any clay.

The angel collected earth from every single corner of the world red earth from the hills of Arabia, white earth from cold northern lands, black earth from deep African soil, soft earth from river valleys, hard earth from mountain peaks. Earth from deserts and plains, from coasts and highlands.

Allah formed this clay into the shape of a man. It lay there beautiful, hollow, silent. Not yet alive. Like a bell waiting to ring.

The angels would pass by and look at this amazing creation in wonder.

Can you imagine? The very first human being made from the same soil beneath your feet!

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
"And indeed, We created humankind from sounding clay, from dark smooth mud altered."
Qur'ān 15:26
Allah created the first human being from sounding clay, a special kind of mud that had been shaped and allowed to dry. The fact that we come from the earth is a reminder of our humility, but it is also a reminder that Allah shaped us with His own care and attention. From something as simple as clay, Allah made the most remarkable creature in all of creation.

✨ Chapter 3 of 9

The First Breath of Life

Then came the most amazing moment in all of creation.

Allah breathed the Ruh the soul into Adam.

Life moved from the top of his body downward. As the Ruh reached his nose...

ACHOO! 🤧

Adam sneezed! And instantly as if he had always known these words he said:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

"Alhamdulillah!" All praise belongs to Allah!

Allah responded: "Yarhamuk Allah" May Allah have mercy on you, O Adam.

His eyes opened to light. His ears heard sound for the first time. His heart began to beat. He looked at his own two hands hands that had never existed before in all of history. He breathed. He looked up at the sky.

And the very first words any human being ever spoke were words of gratitude to Allah.

فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ
"So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down to him in prostration."
Qur'ān 15:29
Allah told the angels that when He had shaped Adam perfectly and breathed His own spirit into him, they should all bow down in respect. This was not worship of Adam, it was a command from Allah to honour His creation as an act of obedience to Him. The soul Allah breathed into Adam made him alive in a way no other creature had ever been before.

The Names of Everything

Allah then did something that revealed just how special Adam was.

He taught Adam the names of all things. Every animal, every plant, every star, every river, every stone, every creature Adam knew their names. Allah gave him this extraordinary gift of knowledge.

Then Allah showed all of these things to the angels and asked: "Tell me the names of all of these, if you are truthful."

The angels wise, devoted, always obedient said the only honest thing they could: "Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."

Then Allah said: "O Adam, inform them of their names." Adam spoke and one by one, he named everything perfectly.

The angels were silent with awe.

Allah had shown the world: Adam was made for a purpose. He could learn, understand, name, build, and discover. He had been given a mind fit to be Allah's caretaker on Earth.

وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبِـُٔونِى بِأَسْمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
"And He taught Adam the names of all things. Then He presented them to the angels and said: Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."
Qur'ān 2:31
Allah taught Adam the names of everything, a gift of knowledge that no angel had been given. When the angels were asked to name things, they honestly said they only knew what Allah had taught them, and then Adam named everything perfectly. This shows us that the ability to learn, understand, and give names to things is one of the greatest gifts Allah placed inside every human being.

⚠️ Chapter 5 of 9

Everyone Bowed But One

With everything prepared, Allah gave His command:

"Bow down before Adam!"

And every single angel bowed down. In perfect obedience. In honor of what Allah had created and commanded.

Every one. Except one.

His name was Iblis. He stood tall and straight, refusing. His heart had filled with something dark and dangerous: kibr arrogance and pride.

Allah asked him: "What stopped you from bowing when I commanded you?"

Iblis replied: "I am better than him! You created me from fire and created him from clay."

He thought: Fire is better than clay. So I am better than Adam.

But Iblis missed something enormous. It was not what Adam was made of that made him honorable it was Allah's command that made him worthy of honor. Pride blinded Iblis to this truth.

Allah told Iblis to leave. And Iblis now called Shaytan became the sworn enemy who would spend his existence trying to lead the children of Adam astray, out of jealousy and resentment.

قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ
"He said: What prevented you from bowing when I commanded you? Iblis said: I am better than him You created me from fire and created him from clay."
Qur'ān 7:12
When Allah asked Iblis why he refused to bow, Iblis said he was better because he was made from fire while Adam was made from clay. This was the very first act of arrogance and pride ever committed, and it led to Iblis being removed from Allah's mercy forever. It teaches us that thinking we are better than others is one of the most dangerous traps Shaytan fell into, and we must protect ourselves from it.

🌿 Chapter 6 of 9

A Garden Beyond Imagination

Adam was placed in a paradise so beautiful, no words can fully describe it.

Imagine rivers of pure water that never goes bad, rivers of golden honey, rivers of fresh milk. Fruits hanging low, ripe and ready whenever you wished. Trees full of birds singing the most beautiful melodies. Soft breezes. Colours more vivid than anything on Earth.

Then Allah created someone very special to be Adam's companion: Hawwa the first woman, the mother of all humankind.

Allah spoke to them both with love: "O Adam, live in the Garden with your wife. Eat freely from its fruits wherever you wish but do not come near this one tree, or you will both become wrongdoers."

One tree. Just one. Out of everything in the most generous, abundant paradise in existence one simple boundary.

Adam and Hawwa lived in joy and peace, surrounded by beauty, close to Allah's mercy.

وَقُلْنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَكُلَا مِنْهَا رَغَدًا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
"And We said: O Adam, dwell you and your wife in Paradise and eat from it freely wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you become wrongdoers."
Qur'ān 2:35
Allah placed Adam and Hawwa in Paradise with complete freedom to enjoy everything in it, except for one single tree. This one boundary was a test of whether they would trust and obey Allah, even when they did not know all the reasons why. It reminds us that Allah's limits are always there to protect us, even when we cannot see exactly how.

🌑 Chapter 7 of 9

The Whisper

Shaytan had not forgotten about Adam.

He had promised Allah he would try to lead the children of Adam astray. And now, here in Paradise, he saw his chance.

He crept close and began to whisper...

"Your Lord only forbade you this tree to stop you from becoming like the angels or from living here forever!"

He lied. He made promises. He even swore by Allah's own name using sacred words as a cover for his deception that he only wanted good for them.

They forgot. In that moment, they forgot the clear warning they had been given.

They ate from the tree.

Instantly, they felt the weight of what they had done. A heaviness settled in their hearts. They knew they had disobeyed the One who had given them everything.

But this was not the end of the story. This was actually the moment that led to the most important lesson in all of human history...

فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانُ قَالَ يَا آدَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ الْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَّا يَبْلَىٰ
"Then Shaytan whispered to him, saying: O Adam, shall I lead you to the tree of eternity and a kingdom that does not decay?"
Qur'ān 20:120
Shaytan whispered to Adam and suggested that the forbidden tree would lead him to eternal life and a kingdom that never ends. This was a lie dressed up as something desirable. It shows us exactly how Shaytan works, he never comes telling us something is wrong, he makes wrong things sound beautiful and tempting. The best protection is to remember that whatever Allah has forbidden, He has forbidden for our own good.

💛 Chapter 8 of 9

The Most Beautiful Apology

Adam and Hawwa did not run away from Allah. They did not make excuses. They did not blame each other.

They turned straight to Allah hearts full of regret and said the most beautiful words ever spoken in all of human history:

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
"Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will certainly be among the losers."
Qur'ān 7:23
These are the words Adam and Hawwa said when they turned to Allah after eating from the forbidden tree, admitting they had wronged themselves and begging for Allah's forgiveness and mercy. There was no blame-shifting and no making excuses, just honest and humble repentance. Allah accepted these words immediately, and Muslims have used this same du'a to seek forgiveness ever since.

And Allah Al-Ghaffar (the Repeatedly Forgiving), Al-Tawwab (the Ever-Accepting of Repentance), Al-Rahman (the Most Merciful) forgave them.

"Then Adam received words from his Lord, and He forgave him. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful." (Qur'ān 2:37)

This is one of the most beautiful moments in all of human history. The very first human beings made the very first mistake and made the very first tawbah. And Allah accepted it.

The door of repentance has been open for every single human being ever since.

🌅 Chapter 9 of 9

A Beautiful New Beginning

Adam and Hawwa were sent to live on Earth. But Allah did not abandon them.

He told them: "Guidance will surely come to you from Me. Whoever follows My guidance shall have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve."

Allah sent guidance with them. Adam became the first prophet on Earth the first human to receive revelation directly from Allah. He taught his children and grandchildren everything:

Who Allah is, and how to worship Him
How to pray and make du'a
How to be honest, generous, and kind
How to take care of the Earth and each other

From those two people Adam and Hawwa every single human being alive today has come. You. Me. Your family. Every person who has ever walked this Earth.

We are all the children of Adam. We carry the honour Allah gave to him the honour so great that even the angels bowed. We carry his story. And we carry that same du'a in our hearts: the ability to always turn back to Allah.

قُلْنَا اهْبِطُوا مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّي هُدًى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
"We said: Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve."
Qur'ān 2:38
As Adam and Hawwa descended to Earth, Allah made them a beautiful promise: guidance would come to them from Him, and whoever follows that guidance will have nothing to fear and nothing to grieve. This is the promise Allah gave to all of humanity through Adam, that we are never left alone on this earth, and that following Allah's guidance is the surest path to peace.
